St Edith’s, North Reston
A quiet farmland church honouring St Edith of Wilton, daughter of an Anglo-Saxon king who chose a life of prayer over the royal court.
Dedicated to St Edith of Wilton
St Edith of Wilton was the daughter of King Edgar, who chose life as a nun at Wilton Abbey over the position her birth might have given her, and became known for her devotion to prayer. She died in 984.
St Edith’s stands quietly among the farmland east of Louth, reached along a farm drive rather than a village street — fitting for a church dedicated to a saint who withdrew from public life to devote herself to prayer.
Inside, the altar is a simple, peaceful focus for worship, cared for by the small community it serves. Like its sister churches across the benefice, St Edith’s remains part of the shared life and worship of Legbourne Woldmarsh.

North Reston, near Louth, Lincolnshire LN11 8JD
Head east from Louth on the A157; turn right immediately after the lay-by into a farm drive — the church is on the right.
