Dedicated to St Peter
St Peter the apostle was described by Christ as “the rock on which he would build his church.” Known for his passionate, sometimes faltering faith — including his denial of Christ, later forgiven — he was ultimately crucified upside-down, believing himself unworthy to die as Christ had.
St Peter’s sits beautifully in a fold of the Wolds, with fine approaches across the fields on public footpaths as well as by road. A particular treasure inside is the splendid barrel organ, built in 1839 and holding three barrels of ten tunes each — the only one still in working order to be found in any Lincolnshire church.

Turn left off the A16 heading north; approached across the fields by public footpath as well as by road. Open daily.
